After
having sailed the high seas for years, Joké (pronounced Yoka) and Stewart have
dropped anchor in Hout Bay some years ago, and soon started building their home in lush
Baviaanskloof overlooking the mountains and sea. Joké, having run charters in the
Caribbean as well as being an interior designer by trade, forever itching to put her
creative spirit to use, and Stewart soon found another even better piece of
land and decided to build another house that turned out to be a guesthouse par
excellence. |

in numerous interior magazines for its simple and classic design has not been
Frogg's Leap only drawcard - no this little guesthouse has gained its reputation mainly
through word of mouth ( like the best kept little secret..) and the only advertsing ever
done was in the Portfolio Guide of Retreats. So.... what makes it so special? Could it
be the mouthwatering breakfasts served at a 12 seater dining table (manufactured by
Stewart's furniture manufacturing business) ... or the fact that after having spent a
couple of days you don't leave as a guest but as a friend who is already looking forward
to the next return. Or it might have been that excursion on the back of Stewart's pick-up
truck to the evening concert on Sunday night on the lawns of Kirstenbosch Botanical
Garden, accompanied by this scrumptious picnic basket that Joké had packed. You cannot
really put your finger on it.. all you know is that your stay at Frogg's Leap
was something special. |
